Happy 2009! Time flies by so fast in a flash that sometimes it kept me thinking and pondering how old I am getting already. I know la... first day of 2009 only and I am commenting that I am old when my bday was almost 1 mth ago. Wahaha... This is me. I feel aged and old as time goes tick tock tick tock each day, slowly approaching another day of the mth, another day of the year.
Did nothing much on the last day of 2008. Was supposed to go work but woke up feeling giddy and had a terrible migraine. Took leave and rest for the day. Dearie was smsing me, wondering how come I didn't reply his smses. Told him I not feeling well and going to take a rest at home instead. Went back to my dreamland and the next moment when I woke up, it was 2+pm. I was woken up by Dearie's calls, checking on how I am and reminding me to wake up and get ready for the wedding dinner that we were attending at night.
Yes... the wedding dinner was held by my ex-colleague, Elvin Boo and Weiling, who happens to be Dearie's secondary school friend. The venue was at Dragon Gate Restaurant. Know where is it? HarbourFront, just next to VivoCity where they would be having the Countdown held by Channel 8. Was telling Dearie it was not a good place to hold cos traffic will be bad, there will be a lot of people! Everyone wouldn't want to miss counting down and probably fireworks?
Anyway, woke up and slowly prepared and get ready to head over to Dearie's place. I only left my place slightly after 6pm and took a cab to look for Dearie at his place. Left my barang barang and waited for Robin to come back and fetch us to HabourFront. While waiting... feeling bored, took some pics. :P
We were the blue couple. WAhaha... Was asking Dearie... I wear blue dress and you have to wear blue shirt? Like Shan's wedding, I was wearing purple dress and he wore a shirt with purple stripes. He said to match me ma... hehe...
Reached the dinner venue at 7.30pm. The dinner only started at around 9pm. Yes... typical Singaporeans arriving late for the occasion and I guess partly due to the jam or the number of guests that the couple had invited? I did a count and there were 84 tables and 4 reserved tables. It was a lot ya? Also... guess what else they had? They actually invited a band to come and perform singing etc!!! My first time attending wedding dinner with Ge Tai! Super Chee Na ya? Amazing and something definitely very new to me. Didn't manage to see everything clearly as the place we were sitting were at another room and we had to see the stage via projector and LCD Tv. Nevertheless, could see the guests enjoying themselves and some were like a reunion dinner for them as we saw people going around taking lots of photos on their own and also, making each other drunk?
My ex-colleague did not turn up for the dinner and it was a gathering for Dearie as we were seated with his best friend and also his group of secondary school friends. I was left alone at times when Dearie was busy talking to one of them. Never mind... I got Ge Tai to entertain me. Hehe... His friends were nice to help us take some photos. Here they are...
The other couple in the pic was Dearie's Best Friend with her hubby. I am loving the pic they had took with me and Dearie. Looked so nice... Wahaha... I think I dolled up myself better than going to hair salon to let them do my hair. See a difference between here and the photo I took at Shan's wedding? Or maybe it's the photographing skills of Dearie's friend? Hehe...
After the dinner, wanted to stay around VivoCity to welcome 2009. The place had a lot of people walking around lor. I decided not to be among the crowd and told Dearie that we shall be heading home. Robin was not able to fetch us in time and so, we took cab home ourselves. While making our way to the taxi stand, we saw people jamming up the lifts, queuing at the escalators and not being able to go up to the amphitheatre (that is where they are holding the countdown party). The people were a lot and I was telling Dearie... it's scary!!! Everyone were so Onzzz and want to be at the countdown party. The queue was made up of youngters, foreigners, families and kids. Another amusing sight for me. Was telling Dearie I want to take pic of the crowd but he said better not... later ganna box by the crowd.
At the taxi stand, queue was long but there were a lot of cabs. We saw people asking the cabbies to bring them to Siloso Beach (Sentosa) but they were declined. Understand Sentosa Gateway was being blocked / closed? They were told to take the train over and would be much faster to take a cab in. Saw them asking a few cabbies and they dun have any luck at all. When we boarded the cab and were going off, saw a few TPs stationed at St. James already. No cabs will want to make a way in and later be stuck and not able to take this golden opportunity to earn the fares ba.
Both of us managed to reach home just before 12am. Were standing at the door watching the countdown on TV with Mother. Just as the clock stroke 12, could hear people shouting happy new year from downstairs, the playground below. Haha... just another day, just another year bah... :P
Took more pics when at Dearie's place. Hehe... Dolled up must take nice nice pics ma. That is why Dearie got me a camera as a present ya?
Haha... blogged super long for my first blog of the New year. Going off to makan breakfast le. Hungry... tata!
