Good, Friendly, Bad, Ugly, Desperato!
Friday, February 29, 2008 @ at

Super busy preparing for Career & Education Fair 2008. Held at Suntec City. Prepared for the event and now part of the event. Just started yesterday. Going to be there all the way till Sunday to do recruitment for my company. Met a lot of people, locals, foreigners, etc. Some of them are geninue in looking for job opportunities whereas some are just there to accompany their friends to look around and source for courses. There are a lot of people... super irritating, bad, ugly and desperate. Reflecting and showing their ugly side. Most of them are Singaporeans... a little bit are foreigners. Bad experience with them. Super dun understand how come they can be so thick skinned!

My company is giving out note pads to people who filled up our application forms and submit their resumes to us. We are encouraging people to explore job opportunities with our company. We just displayed 4 notepads each on our table and cabinet. Due to the prior experience in Republic poly, I decided we are not to stack the stock on our table. Instead, kept them below and distribute when people give us resumes. We sticked the notepads on the table. Some of them really just attempt to take the notepad and go and their plan were spoiled cos we have sticked them before that. Some people are just so mean and bad. Attempt to take them and pull out and even as I stop them, still can say why I cannot be flexible and give it to them. I just told them it's our company's policy and if you want, can look at our profile and job listing and let me have your details so I would know wat kind of position is suitable. They dun even look at my brochures and just nagged away. It's just cost us $1.10 and people can be so ugly and desperate. One of them, Questioned me on our eligibilty to collect resumes and information. Even said if he just go down to our office to submit the form and resume, are we sure we have stock to give him notepad etc? Even have the nerve to bluff me, said submitted the forms and we never give him the notepad. When I asked for name so I could search and ensure he really did submit, dun dare to tell me his name, took our forms 2 times and went to fill up. When he came back with the form, he just filled up name and number. Hello! my application form has 4 pages to it. so many information not filled, still want to con me? Think I am 3 yrs old kid or what is it????

Well, I am from HR. If you are just there to collect freebies, dun waste my precious time. I have been standing the whole day and talking all the time to let people understand who are and what kind of businesses we are in. You are not sincerely looking for a job. Just taking this opportunity to take freebies. Why can't you just stand aside and not to crowd and bother me at my booth and waste my time? There are so many others trying to find a job in Singapore. Some of them just submit their resumes, fill up our forms and walked off, without even giving a chance to give them the notepad. They are the ones who are really sincere and looking out for jobs. I should be giving them more of my time etc. instead of having to spend them on you, explaining things etc. I even gave him my direct number and name, telling him to come down and find me. I am in office on MONDAY. I will attend to him personally and I even signed off on the application form. Still asked me to indicate freebie to be given to him when he comes to my office and asked me to write for him the name of the event. I asked him back... if u have the visitor sticker, which clearly state what event it is, still need me to write is it? I just wrote down and tell him I am from HR. Look for me and I know what to do. I am sure I have stock in office. No need to worry. He has no choice but to walk away. I still tell him THANK YOU.

My colleague was sitting beside me and was amazed with my attitude and how I handled the situation. She tugged my hand when I was talking to that irritating and desperate man. Prompting me to cool down etc. Well, no worries. I am representing my company and I am in company's T-Shirt. I know what are the things to do and how to handle without affecting the reputation. No matter what, bear with it and just smile and greet. They walk away then I complain to colleagues. Those stupid people cannot do anything to me. WAhahaha...

Just 2 days... I see so many side of the human beings. Some are really nice and grateful when you accept their applications... some are just simply too ugly to look at. Haiz... Dunno what is this world coming to. So free to come all the way to Suntec just to collect freebies. Anyone can tell me why like that? haiz...

Updates updates!
Saturday, February 23, 2008 @ at

Haven't been blogging for the past few days. Busy with lots of things. Here I am to update what have taken place around me.

11 Feb, Monday

Went back to office to work. Not much people in office and a lot of them were on leave. My boss was also on leave. Able to do my work and didn't feel that stress. Everyone were in good mood as it was just the 5th day of CNY. It was also Wendy's first day of work. Just went through some basic thing with her and left her to her boss and Dept to take care of her. The day passed easily and I managed to leave office on dot. Forgot where I headed to. Either I met Dearie or I actually went home. :)

12 Feb, Tuesday

One of my ex-colleague came back to work. Happy to see her around. Boss was back as well and told me that HQ had sent us something to do on CNY eve, 3pm+, and expect us to return on 11 Feb, Monday. Are they out of their mind? How can they expect us to complete a complicated template and submit back to them on the first day of working day after the CNY holidays? Haiz... We no need to celebrate CNY ma? Really cannot understand the way they work. I tried to rush the report for my boss and had to study and look at it till I blurred. Hmm... the work were only completed 1 week later and heard from my boss that it might be wrong cos our Malaysia office submitted and they got to re-do as it does not tally with them. Haiz...

13 Feb, Wednesday

Went out with that ex-colleague of mine. We went to Bugis. I wanted her to accompany me to town area but I couldn't find my shopping vouchers anywhere and thus, decided to go Bugis. Went there to buy something for Dearie. :) An add-on to his V-day's gift. Hehe...

Bought my colleague to the HK cafe at 2nd Level of Bugis. They had changed their menu again and this time round, the choices were not that much. The previous time when I went with Dearie and Shan, they had a lot a lot more choices. Nevertheless, the food still tasted good. I loved the bubble ice-free Ying Yang. Nice nice. Hehe. Shopped till almost 10pm and then went home.

14 Feb, Thursday

Valentine's day. Dearie met me and we went to Tiong Bahru for Rajah Inn. Dearie loved the place. Said long time never go le. Luckily we reserved a place. All the eating places were quite crowded. Every year of the day is like that. Seeing girls with bears and flowers, Couples every where. Dearie told me he did not buy flowers for me. I am fine with no flowers la. Flowers cost so much for this day itself. I rather he saves the money for other use. Don't have to purposely give flowers. I gotten my V-day's gift so much earlier and I am loving it. Muakz Dearie! :) Ate till very full and headed home.

15 Feb, Friday

I was sick. On MC. Slept till almost 12pm then I woke up to see Doc. Asked Dearie to come over and stay and accompany me. He stayed over and while he was playing his PSP, I did some of my work as well. Cracking my weeny brains super hard to do the templates. Do until give up.

16 Feb, Saturday

Dearie got to go home and attend his RT. I was left at home and did nothing much but to play PC game and PSP. I asked Dearie to bring me for movie if he is not too tired from RT. Dearie fetched me and we went to West Mall to catch "Jumper". Hehe... My Dearie is the best!

I wanted to watch "Death note Spin off : L change the world" but opt for "Jumper" instead as the show time was earlier and at least Dearie will not be too tired waiting for the movie to start and reach home after the movie. The movie was ok but the ending was not that fantastic. We walked back slowly to Dearie's place and I stayed over for the night...

17 Feb, Sunday

Woke up and went to Dearie's elder brother's place for CNY visiting. Sat there and was talking to his sister-in-law about their preparations for marriage. Dearie was watching the tv with his elder bro and left the girls chatting and surfing the internet. After the visitation, Dearie bought me to Jurong Point to walk walk. Saw Dearie's Mum with his Auntie and cousin. They were walking around shopping as well. Such a coincidence. Hehe...

Dearie was walking around and contemplating on whether he should be getting Xbox360. He wanted to buy few mths ago but was controlling himself not to. Couldn't give way to the temptation and he bought the set. Didn't stop him. I know he has wanted to buy but was restricting himself. Both of us have to save a lot of money in order to prepare for marriage, flat, etc.

20 Feb, Wednesday

We had our company CNY dinner. I didn't manage to go to the lst dinner as I was sick on Friday. The Sales Director has allocated the places for us to sit. I had to sit on separate tables from my colleague and boss. Wendy happened to sit at the same table as me. Had fun at the dinner. I managed to answer a game correctly and had to find an ang bao. The ang bao was with my GSM. Me and him have very good working relationship and I was super pai seh to have to search him for the ang bao. The rest still shouting and gaming me to search him and I had to find ways and means to avoid and probably get people's help. The GSM also sensed my awkardness and took out the ang bao and gave to me directly. Hehe. I got additional $50 taka vouchers. Later I was also the first one to get picked from the lucky draw. Lucky for the night ya? But I was also very unlucky wor... Got a rotten mandarin orange from the Hotel and my soup spoon had a chip. I got them to change lor. So do I count myself lucky or wat? haha...

21 Feb, Thursday

On leave for the day. Slept in the morning around 5+am. Woke up around 10am and went through some office work. Suffered emotional breakdown. Kept tearing and became upset about what was going on at work. Texted my Boss and shared my things with her. Guessed I made her super worried le. Told my Dearie and he was comforting me. I was tearing from home all the way to City hall. Felt much better after pouring out.

Me and Dearie were on half day as we were going down to sign the contract for our ROM Solemnisation place. Confirmed having that place liao. Hehe... so excited. Dearie bought me to IMM and we walked around the place before heading back to his place for a BBQ cum Steamboat dinner. Dearie's family were in and we ate happily and were talking away. Managed to talk a fair bit with Dearie's brothers.

22 - 23 Feb, Friday - Saturday

Met Dearie after my work. Went to Suntec and were walking around. Dearie had to wait for me very long. He got a seminar there and was off at 5pm. Even though I left my office early, I still made him wait so long. Poor thing... Always have to wait for me so long. Went to eat Sakae and I stayed over for the night again.

Dearie bought me to Vivocity and bought me to watch "Death note spin off : L change the world". The show was much scarier as compared to the initial movies. It was becos of the death of the infected people and the sacrifice of the Professor. The story ended with a touching and sad ending. The show was good. Recommended to watch. Thumbs up!

Hehe... end my super lengthy blog here liao. very loh soh liao. Haha & Tata!

Visitation Day with Dearie
Saturday, February 9, 2008 @ at

Didn't manage to blog yesterday. Woke up at near to 1pm and met Dearie, Yvonne and Iris for movie @ Marina Square. Caught Jay Chow's movie. Nice! Much better than Ah Long Pte Ltd. Jay looked arrogant in the movie when he was playing basketball and displaying his gungfu but he had his cute side as well. Funny and kiddish. Looked super smart when he was in suit. Shuai lor... hehe...

After that, went to "Chun Dao He Pan". Disappointed. The things seemed to get less and less. Not that pretty and nice as last time. Haven't been there for the last 2 years and as compared, it's definitely not that nice le. Took some pics along the way but the pics were in my PC. Don't have them with me now. Currently in Dearie's place. Going to stay over tonight. Last night Dearie also stayed over at my place as he had missed the last train home.

Came over to his place early this morning. Wished his family Happy New Year. After that, Dearie bought me to his granny's place. Didn't stay there for long as we had to go over to my Auntie's place @ Bedok. Dearie drove me there and during the way, took some pics of Dearie and myself. :P

Reached my Auntie's place at abt 1.30pm. Every CNY, all will gather at her place for some makan session. This year, bought Dearie around and everyone was asking us questions etc. Told them we were tying the knot in September. They were happy for us and mistaken ROM for Customary. hahah... Dearie played a bit of Xbox 360 while I played a bit of blackjack with my Aunties and their hubbies. Was at a losing stake at first but managed to win a little bit. Didn't manage to eat dinner @ her place as Dearie's bro had to use his car and we rushed back. Luckily Dearie's mum had cooked dinner and told us in the morning already. At least we knew there is food back at Dearie's home. :)

My 4th Auntie with her 9 mths baby girl. Ain't Bess cute???

Some of my cousins. Have a few more not in this pic. Engrossed in playing Xbox 360

Had coffee last night and couldn't sleep well at all throughout the night. Going to rest early tonight. Dearie's mum's relatives going to come over tomorrow. Wonder what time. Not nice to be Zzzing if they are here. Got to wake up early and be ready for them. Night night...

My First Day of CNY
Friday, February 8, 2008 @ at

Woke up late on my first day of CNY. Got up at almost 12pm. Dearie was out early to go for his prayers and visiting while I was at home sleeping. Normally I do not go out on first day of CNY. My aunt will come over with her family to visit us. This year, it was different. Have made a date with my friends few days ago to go over to her place for Mahjong session. Yes... Mahjong. Very long never play le. It's hard to find places to play and also, 4 players so we could start the game. Happened that my friends, Iris, Yvonne and Bun Bun could make it and so, a gaming session was formed! :)

Before I went out, my niece came over to visit with her mum. I very very long didn't see my niece le. She could not recognise me at all and was afraid when I approached her. Managed to take 2 pics with her and afterwich, she warmed up a bit to me. Didn't stay long to play with her as I was late for my appointment and had to rushed out. Here are some of her pics. Ain't she cute? :)

DSC00305 DSC00313 DSC00316 DSC00312 DSC00318  DSC00314

Went over to Iris's place for Mahjong session. Iris wasn't very sure about the game and we took turns to coach her. She ended having to pay for "lessons" and Bun Bun was the big winner. We managed to cover 3 rounds and played overnight. Me, Bun Bun and Yvonne took the early train home. Yes... we did not sleep and was playing mahjong. Felt the tiredness kicked in when on the way home. Probably our brains have stopped being that active and the sleepiness slowly flow in. I am going to catch some sleep and see what time I could wake up later. Meeting Iris and Yvonne together with Dearie. Going to catch a movie. Hehe... Lots of movie coming up once again. So many I want to watch. Anyone wanna join me for movie session? :)

Anyway, before I go, here are some of the pics taken at Iris's place.

Dearie's new look
Thursday, February 7, 2008 @ at

Took these pics last night when Dearie was at my place. He went to have a hair cut before coming over. What do you all think of his new look? Nice? I told him I wanted to cut off his fringe. Hehe... looked a bit "Ah Seng" to me. Dearie told me not to touch his hair. Kept it that way so it's easier for him to have his fringe up. Anyone think the same as me? :P

New Year New Look...
Wednesday, February 6, 2008 @ at

Eve of Chinese New Year. Half a day today. Everyone is in good mood. All looking forward to the long holidays and weekend. I made myself left office at 1 and did not bring any work home. I should really be taking a good rest and chong again when back to work.

Reached home at almost 2. Super hungry. Ate some leftovers and came online. Decided to change my blog skin. New look for the new year. hehe. nice?

Dearie is here. Playing PS2 with my bro. He bought satay for us to eat. just finished eating some and also mandarin oranges. Hope my Rat year would be a fantastic year! :)

Happy Lunar New Year to all! May all health, wealth and good luck be with you throughout the year and at  all times!

JOS Movie night... Ah Long Pte Ltd
@ at

Held my Company's movie night at Plaza Singapura today. It was the first time that my company ever held this event. My boss has obtained the green light from my Group Director for me to run this event. I was disheartened at first at the initial organising but happy and excited as the day drew nearer. Seeing the number of signups increasing day to day, even to last minute basis. Tonight was the night... We had a special arrangement with Golden Village to let our staff get to see the movie earlier than the general public. I was afraid that things might go haywire but luckily, everything was fine. Most of them enjoyed the show, laughter here and there. Got a few praises from the Management. Happy... :)

Went to wait for Dearie to finish his class. Wanted to get him to come to the Event but he couldn't make it due to lessons. Some of my staff were asking me why my partner was not there. They thought I didn't invite him. Well, they had guessed wrongly. I would very much want Dearie to come and enjoy the movie together with me, introducing him to my boss and colleagues. They would love to meet him instead of having to see our pic on the little corner of my table. Well, targeting to have another movie event in July and hopefully Dearie could join me. Next movie in mind... Batman - The Dark Knight. Hehe...

Tomorrow is CNY eve. Dearie is coming to my place for dinner. We had our reunion dinner already but going to have 1 more. Half day at work tomorrow and I am going to drive to work. Lazy to go in office for half a day and later on have to travel the long journey back. Bro letting me drive. Thus I could afford to wake up slightly late tomorrow. hehe...

Anyway, here are some of the pics taken earlier. hehe... :)

Swinging Mood... Updates...
Sunday, February 3, 2008 @ at

As usual, have been busy for the past few days. It always seems like time is never enough for me to utilise. My new colleague has come onboard and I have to find time to coach and tell her how things work over there. Didn't manage to teach much but luckily, this colleague of mine is much much better than the last one. She took down notes when I was going through with her the things and also had initiative to offer help and asked if I needed her help. Seems like we could get along and she would be here to stay. Keeping fingers crossed. It's really tiring having to teach new staff over and over again. Some could not get along with me and even could talked bad about me to my boss. Luckily my boss is understanding and knows me well to believe what they had said. I am really lucky to have such a good boss and we could really talk about things. :)

Anyway, feeling kind of moody for the past 2 days. Dunno why also. Was feeling very sianz and lazy to do much things. Went out with Dearie on Tue and Fri. On Tue, we went to Somerset to eat Ramen at the new extension of Centrepoint. Was supposed to go Coca with Irene but she had work to rush and had to cancel. We ate at this new store that said to have white charcoal for their Yakitori. Didn't try the Yakitori though. Both of us had Ramen and also Tempura prawns. Tasted not bad... Currently have promotion. One for one Ramen free. So we only paid for 1 bowl of Ramen and the Tempura Prawns. After that, Dearie bought me to Haagen Daaz to eat. He had redeemed a voucher via UOB and didn't have time to bring me till it was expiring already. Tasted 6 kinds of different ice-cream. Yummy! Walked around the place and headed home.

Friday, met Dearie at Marina Square. Dearie had straight bus from his work place and thus decided to take the bus and meet me directly at MS. Kept me waiting though as the bus was late and by the time he reached, was almost 8pm already. Supposed to meet me around 7.15 - 7.30pm. I was telling my colleague I was feeling hungry and had to wait till almost 9pm then eat my dinner. Dearie wanted to get something from Creative as they were having Sale. Bought his Mouse and Speakers. Went to Billy Bombers to have our dinner and witness a big group of students celebrating someone's birthday, making a mess out of the place and creating super lots of noise. It's good to be young but looking at the way they were playing, scary... Public nuisance lor. Luckily they were sitting outside.

Saturday, went dinner with Dearie's family. felt moody and dunno why. Didn't know how to explain why I felt that way too. Wanted to stay at home but guess it's not nice not to turn up for the dinner with Dearie's family and his grandma. Took my lazy bum out of my house and met Dearie. After our dinner, went to meet Elaine, Terence and Stella. Had a good chat. Both of us couldn't make it for Elaine's birthday celebration and thus, we asked her for coffee and passed her the present. Hope she likes it! It's nice to catch up with them and really have a good chat. Shared a number of things and were laughing along the way. Guess Dearie enjoyed himself too. :)

Time to stop and go to bed. Dearie has to wake up early tomorrow for his RT. I better log off and go to bed also. Tata...
